National Anthology

Thank you to everyone who contributed

Since Ink Movement Canada’s inception in 2012, we have published over 7 anthologies showcasing the talent of the youth mainly in the Mississauga and recently Edmonton areas.

For our 2020/2021 year, we are broadening Ink Movement’s mission to new heights and ambitiously taking the entire nation in our stride as we seek out to create our most involved anthology to date:
The Ink Movement National Anthology.

“The anthology is, essentially, designed to bring together voices from communities across our country, and shine a light on individual truth”.
— Ayana Siddiqui, Ink Movement Mississauga President (2019/2020)

In an attempt to empower artists, inspire social change and further our goal to create accessible programming for Canada’s youth, we hope to feature young talent across Canada, province to territory, coast to coast, city to town. Under the theme of “Change and Transformation”, teams from both Ink Movement’s Mississauga and Edmonton chapters have come together to reach this goal.
We hope you’re just as excited about this project as we are.

“A National Anthology would be a critical opportunity, now more than ever, for Canadians to witness the truly extraordinary depth and breadth of the youth voices all around us”.
— Rana Al-Fayez, Ink Movement Mississauga Event Lead (2016-2018)
“[The National Anthology] can act as a creative outlet for youth across Canada, and can truly do justice to the vulnerable and utterly human nature of experiences that Canadian youth highlight in their art; through the messy notes scribbled in anger, to the almost inaudible words whispered in utter hopelessness, and everything in between and beyond.
— Ayesha Dayala, Ink Movement Mississauga Event Lead (2019/2020)
